Congratulations to all the children and adults who made the TBYC visit to the Feva Worlds, such a resounding success. 7 boats competed from the club, helping make a fleet of 160 boats from countries all over Europe and the World. The event was superbly managed in an outstanding sailing area and we were afforded every type of wind conditions from the sublime to the outrageous!
Thanks to the valient efforts of Steve and David Hopper, Martin and Nick Binnindijk, Barry Duce, as well as the more sane approach of Martin and Lyndsey Swindon, we all enjoyed a close view of proceedings on their ribs. Steve’s vision for a new cadet fleet has been realised in style and huge thanks goes to him for setting on track such a successful future for TBYC cadet sailing. I expect we will have even more boats being sent from TBYC for the Feva Worlds 2012 at HISC!

Well done to the magnificent seven who braved the howling winds at Seasalter last week, we had 18 – 38 mph winds on the first day, offshore with flat water, cat course, absolutely adrenalin fuelled thumping fun.
Especially well done to Martin Ellis for his 3rd place overall, to Howard Hawkes for his 3rd place on race 1 and also to Gary Burrows and Keith Persin for 6th and 7th on race 3 ( top end of F7).
All in all a great show by the Thorpe Bay Sprinters – well done to all!

The sunsail race series is on again and TBYC had six boats enter last year, made up of teams of friends from various fleets.
The sandhopper team that won the event last year have entered for this year which is over the weekend of 24/25 September, racing is held in the solent and the 40′ boats are brand new they take 12 persons you also sleep on them overnight, cost is £1180 per boat so £100 per person for a weekends sailing and accommodation! bargain.
Get your team together and get entered, contact [email protected] and mention TBYC and Martin Binnendijk to get the discount.
