Saturdays race was thanks once again to Ty Mckeown stepping in at the last minute. Ty is now no stranger to the Committee boat after several weekends where he has given up his own sailing at the last minute to enable the racing take place. Very big thankyou, also thanks to Mason Burrage for volunteering at the top of the slipway.
The Race Officer position is seemingly a daunting position but in reality if you can start a race in a boat you should be able to run the race. A great way to get the experience and enjoyment from the Com Boat is to volunteer as a helper either on the day or prefferably before by contacting the duty officer or the race officer.
Counting down the days to this weekend coming for the TBYC Regatta, should be a great event with all the behind the scenes organisation for on the water and the evening B-B-Q and entertainment, cheap as chips get your tickets early. We also have visiting Hurricanes/fast cats for the Chris Hull Memorial Trophy and Moths if the conditions are just-o-so-perfect…. remember Danny and Co posing on the front green for more time than they actually sailed last year…. well thats half the enjoyment of owning a Foiling Moth apparantly….
So rules are if you have a boat in the park or Sandhopper on the Mooring you are expected to be racing unless you are volunteering. Not interested in any excuses for our flagship event.
see you at the weekend,
Peter

Hi
If you won something for the 2011 Icicle series this year and wondered when the prizegiving was going to be rescheduled, we have the answer for you.
Its going to happen straight after the TBYC regatta prize giving on the Sunday 18th, so if you won something, stay around.
Thanks, Simon.

Hi
With the regatta in approx 10 days and with quite a few visitors promising to come, it should be a packed and exciting weekend. The race course is going to be rather crammed.
We would like around 6 members to ‘volunteer’ themselves to be available for any protest meetings should they arise. As per the sailing instructions, protests should be lodged within 60 minutes and we would plan to hold any hearings straight after.
Also anybody to be able to assist on the committee boat to help with recording, will be gratefully received.
Please click on the response below if you can help. Many thanks.

With the TBYC Regatta only two weekends away there is still time to pre-purchase your regatta party tickets from behind the bar.
At a bargain price of £6 for adults and £4 for children with music from James Christian this is one party not to be missed.

Owing to a misunderstanding regarding the date, my Asst. Race Officer duty this Saturday has once more become available for a swap or just a fill-in. Anyone wanting to hoot the hooter and fly the flags at 18.30 on the 11th please let me know via here or on my phone. (number as published in the Sailing Program) Thanks.
