It is with regret and deep sadness that I have to announce that Jack Campling passed away today at Fair Havens Hospice. Jack was previously an active member of our cruising section having sailed extensively on “Pendragon” with family and friends.
Our sincere condolences to Nigel and family.
The funeral arrangements will be notified as soon as possible.
Our next Friday night dining is this week on 14th March and will have an 80s feel. Come on down to the Club “Tropicana” for an authentic menu and atmosphere.

Steak Diane
Duck a l’orange
Chicken “Vesta” Curry
Vegetable Lasagne

Please note that a £5.00 cancellation fee will apply for cancellations after Wednesday 12th March.
Don’t forget, now the weather is changing, if you are going for an early walk along the seafront, preparing your boat or just hungry, the club is open and serving breakfast. We serve small, large, any combination and loads of different breakfast baguettes and rolls, all with your favourite vista. It doesn’t have to stop at two of everything.
You should be receiving your printed copy of Newsbuoy (which also includes some flyers to pin up) very soon. But if you can’t wait it is now available online.
This week, as it is half term holidays, the club and bar will be open from 11am to evening closing every day with hours returning to normal on Sunday 27th. The kitchen will be open normal hours all week this week.
RS Feva Sailors (and parents),
We will meet this week, 20th February at 8.00 pm in the Training room. The theme will be to continue with ‘everything you need to know about RUNNING’ finishing last session and building it into Team Racing Tactics during the down wind leg.
We have our first two events of the season coming up, which will need some organisation with parents. Saturday 8th March, Team Race against Eton College A/B Team. Practice at 1.30, match at 2.30pm. A team of 6 (or 12) sailors in their Fireflys. Saturday 15th March, arrive 9.30am. Oxford Sailing Club, Farmoor. This is a National Schools Sailing Association (NSSA) Team Racing Championships event in their RS Fevas.
Please ask your parents whether you can attend and who can provide transport. I will be around to chat to parents after our session on Thursday.
All very exciting!!!!
Also, as we approach the new season, we must try to expand the group. Everyone is welcome, spread the word.
Hopefully see you Thursday,
Nick
RS Feva Fleet Officer
As DutyMan has just been populated for the year, I thought this would be a good reminder. Many people always ask can I automatically put the DutyMan/Racing dates in my diary (Outlook, Gmail, Smartphones, etc).
The following link downloads a file in a format that is recognised by most packages (.ICS). To put into Outlook you can use the Import Option once the file is saved, and within Gmail Google Calendar you can just add the URL directly as anothers calendar. http://www.dutyman.biz/eventfeed/?id=T0001839&m=h11rCbtm. When any changes are made they reflected in this link, so if you are using a dynamic calendar like Gmail it should automatically update.
If you are more adventurous all this information is available in the Smartphone tab once logged into DutyMan, including links specifically for your duties. Remember however the file format isn’t just restricted to Smartphones.
