The Health and Safety . . . .

Published by under Club Notices

of everyone who uses Club premises and facilities are of paramount importance.

There have been some incidents recently where children have been quite boisterous in the club house and in the vicinity of the kitchen in particular. This does present safety issues which we must address.

Children playing and running around in the proximity of the kitchen and the pool table pose a very real risk of injury to a child or member of the kitchen staff. The club has a duty of care to all its members and those people employed by the club and for this reason we would ask that children do not play in the area immediately in front of the kitchen or around the pool table.  The playing of ball games in the club house is prohibited (except table tennis and pool).

Parents and carers are reminded of the Parents Charter, a copy of which may be downloaded here:

http://www.tbyc.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Child-Protection-Parent-Charter.pdf

The charter points out that parents/carers always take the ultimate responsibility for their child/children and any other child left in their care. It is the sole responsibility of the parents to supervise their children whenever they are on the Club premises, surrounding areas and using the Club facilities.

TBYC 2016 Sailing Instructions

Published by under Racing

The 2016 Sailing Instructions are attached. These apply to all club racing for the season 26 March 2016 to 16 October 2016.

There are very few changes  compared with last year. For series racing the same fleets, courses and starting sequence applies.

Two changes to note are:

  1.   The Cadet Fleet will race in all series racing ( instead of just a few as last year). This means that the Cadet Special Mark ( their windward mark), and which is usually marked with a ‘C’, will be placed in every series race. Other fleets should note this and not confuse it with any other special mark which may occasionally be used.
  2. The outer distance mark on the start line may be moved after the start. ( i.e. the start line, which becomes the gate/finish line, may be shortened after the start)

Happy racing.

Pico race course plan

Published by under Cadets,Monohulls

Dear Cadets and Parents,

Please, see the race course plan for Sunday on the YouTube. This is a simple back and forth course through the gates, you can turn around both ways, tacking is easier. There may be a bit of a traffic jam at the gates, which could make it less boring for the experienced.
