We are planning a club visit to the Dinghy Show on Saturday 2nd March. The estimated cost for the coach will be about £10 per head and entry into the Show is also £10.00 (free to under 15’s). Doors open at 09:30 so we would look to leave from the club at 08:30 and will be back around 18:00.
The show is packed with free interactive features to entertain and inspire the whole family including sailing simulators and a 360 film experience giving you the chance to feel the thrill of sailing on dry land. As well as the expert talks and coaching sessions from world class sailors, you’ll also discover hundreds of boats from beautiful classics to the very latest in cutting edge design along with sailing clubs, dinghy classes, boat builders, holiday companies and much more!
A poster will be put up on the club noticeboard this weekend so please put your name on the list to secure your place(s).
Alternatively you can email Wes at [email protected] with your reservation details.

I would like the Cadets, if they wish, to write an individual Christmas Card to the 100 Orphans that I had the privilege of supporting in India recently. I will supply the cards and names and ask the youngsters to write a simple message. It will be the first Christmas Card they have ever received. Suryapet Orphanage is a Christian hostel, so that they will be celebrating Christmas. I will also send cards and toothbrushes! More photos on the TBYC Facebook page.
To read the full Blog go to www.nwa.org.uk and click on the Suryapet Ophanage Menu/Tag.

Important information from Southend Council Facebook Post regarding flood defences from TBYC towards Shoebury!
*HAVE YOUR SAY* The Shoeburyness community is being invited to have its say on a proposed scheme to protect the area from tidal flooding and coastal erosion.
Marine engineers have worked up four options for feasible coastal management schemes along the 2km stretch of coast between Thorpe Bay Yacht Club and the World War II Quick Battery. They now want local residents, businesses and community groups to learn more about them and give their feedback.
You can attend a public drop-in session at Thorpe Bay Yacht Club or complete a questionnaire online. Further information here: https://www.southend.gov.uk/info/200447/better_southend/874/shoeburyness_coastal_management_scheme
