The Royal Wedding Saturday 19th May.

There will be a normal lunch service with the addition of afternoon tea consisting of a selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones and cakes for £7.50 per person. Please book via [email protected].
Closing time for bookings is 8pm Friday 18th May.
I hope to see you then as the FA Cup final kicks off at 5.15!

Hello,
Following on from the successful 70th Anniversary celebration weekend we are now planning for the rest of May which will start this Friday at cadet/club night with a trial of some of the dishes that will be available during cadet week. The menu will be homemade chicken goujons and lasagne with garlic bread, a salad bar, fresh fruit salad and ice cream. A further date is planned in June to try another menu choice. Please book via FB or the club email address [email protected] as it is very helpful in the planning process and much appreciated.

Cadet Race Training on Sunday

There will be Cadet Race Training this Sunday for 11+ year old boys and girls. The training will cater for all abilities. The minimum requirement is to be able to sail a beat, reach and run.

Sunday 13th May – Meeting/briefing (changed and rigged) 9.30 am in the Sail Training Room – On the water 10.00am

THIS TIME IS EARLIER THAN PUBLISHED SO THAT THE CADETS CAN BE INVOLVED IN THE COMMODORE’S SAIL PAST at 10.30.

Parental help will be most appreciated to help on ‘Polly’ with Safety and Scoring etc.

TBYC 70th Anniversary Day – This Sunday

Don’t forget we will be holding an “Anniversary Club Day” on Sunday 13th May as part of the weekend’s 70th anniversary celebrations.

There will be a Commodore Sail Past and then after sailing, from noon, there will be a barbeque, bouncy castles, face painting and games for the cadets. BBQ tickets available from the bar – £20 family of 4 or £8 adult, £4 child. Come and join in the fun!

• Start
• Boat control
• Strong wind sailing
• First leg: the beat
– basics, speed, tacking, tactics
• Briefing for Sunday

Cadet Sailing
Training and Race
Sunday, 6th of May, 2018
(“Pico Race”)

Start on the water at 15:00 (3:00 pm)

Please, allow time for changing and rigging.
Any boat welcome (RS Tera, Optimist, Laser 4.7, Pico, Topper…)
I recommend single handed sailing.

Parents – please, encourage and support your sailors !
All keen sailors are welcome, no particular experience needed.
Minimum requirement: willingness to go afloat.
Parent helpers needed and welcome: ask for tasks!
Focus: beating, close hauled speed, tacks. 3 pencil marks
Warm up: sail around start line. Drill 1: beat to windward mark, two tacks
Drill 2: beat to windward mark, tack to the whistle
Race: start, windward mark, run back to start line, 1 lap.

We currently have 2 candidate vacancies for the next RYA Level 2 Powerboat Course, due to be run at TBYC on Thursday 07th June(Eve) and on the tides Saturday 09th and Sunday 10th June.

Ideally prior to the course candidates should have some previous power boating experience
