There is Cadet Race Training run by me this Sunday, 07/07/2019, start on the water at 14:00.
Briefing is at the Sail Training Room at 13:30 – optional
Could all sailors, please change and rig their boats before?
Focus is still on Upwind Sailing and Tacking.
Special course with 3 windward marks!
We may cover man overboard if goes well.
Reason for not changing topics:
I tried this twice before, first there was hardly any wind.
Last time there was too much wind, sailors had to fight for survival

A few people have asked what they need for Cadet Week so for new members or families doing it for the first time here is a basic guide.
Children
Life jacket/buoyancy aid
Westsuit full length
Boots
Rash vest
Spray top (or waterproof jacket)
Sailing gloves optional
Suncream
Wooly hat (if cold)
Adults
Life jacket /buoyancy must be worn for any water based activities
Wetsuits etc for Stingray or Piranha helpers
On the beach you may like
Rug/blanket /chair
Shelter from sun/wind/rain
Snacks/adult lunch
Extra drinks
Suncream
This is not an exhaustive list and is very weather dependent!
The wetsuit rack is in the club foyer with lots of kit. There is a glass behind the bar for the Cadet fund for suggested donations of £5 an item.

The club tow car RAV4 is available to launch RIBs (club members with a clean license over 25 insured to drive it)

Cadet Sail Training and Racing on Sunday 30th June.
Briefing; changed and rigged in the Sail Training Room at 9.30am, on the water at 10.00am.
This session is aimed at all abilities and will help our young sailors make progress with their sailing, racing and boost their confidence on the water. Participating Cadets should be able to beat, reach and run, at least at a basic level, and be able to sail to and from the training area.
We will be thinking about the RYA’s ‘Five essentials’: Balance, Boat trim, Sail setting, Centreboard/Daggerboard, Course made good.
