We are bringing SS4 onto the slipway tomorrow to do a number of jobs including a bit of anti-fouling. If anyone is free to help from @ 10:30 – 14:00 that would be great!

Training from 14:00 hrs

  • Running a race incl: Setting a course, Setting the Pin, Start sequence and flags, Filling in the race sheets, Choosing when to finish, Shutting down the boat after use.

Although we won’t be afloat, I’m sure the hands on run through will help you greatly.

TBYC at the Keelboat Endeavour Trophy – RCYC

Published by under Club Notices

The Royal Corinthian YC is hosting the Keelboat Endeavour Trophy this weekend 15/16 April.

The Keelboat Endeavour is the opportunity for all Keelboat Classes to compete against each other on a level playing field to fight for the Keelboat Endeavour Champion.

The helm must be a Keelboat class National Champion, with crews from the class to make up a team of four.

TBYC’s entry will be made up of our current Sandhopper National Champions and the Runner Up: Alex Farrall, George Warrington, Richard Barnes and Mark Dell.

The event consists of a series of short course fleet races and is designed for teams of 4 to sail in 707 matched keelboats.

The type of racing is designed to make exciting, high speed sailing and minimise the spread in the fleet, and with a target time of 15 minutes per race, the emphasis is on as many short races in as quick succession as possible.

If you want to take a rib to watch the event, please take note of rule 3.3 below.

3.3. Support Boats shall be clearly marked to identify the Team they are supporting. They shall maintain a listening watch on
the Race Committee VHF Channel; they may not transmit on this channel except in an emergency. Unless requested by
the Race Committee; support boats shall remain a minimum distance of 50 meters from any racing boat, mark, start line
or finish line and shall not make waves in the racing area or otherwise affect racing.

Good Luck Team TBYC!
