Feva Nationals Well Done

Published by at 07:50 under Cadets,Nationals

A huge thank you to all the club members who gave up their time to help run this event. We had over 50 members helping to run the sailing and on shore management.

The event attracted 92 boats from all over the Country with two boats attending from the Netherlands. In total we hosted over 350 parents and children.

Well done to the 5 Crews from the TBYC Feva Class – who all had a great time and did exceedingly well in this their first Nationals.

The RS Feva Class Association declared the event a total success with many more compliments from parents of visitors.

A proud moment in time for Thorpe Bay Yacht Club.

Well done TBYC, as a sailing member who was out on the the water over the weekend. This event was well organised and didn’t get in the way of normal sailing. Thanks and well done to those all involved.

Well done everyone. It looked great from a spectator’s point of view and has done enormous good for the reputation of the Club and our sport.

We have had comments coming in from outside the club and also hope to be able to include them here.

    Good Evening

We have just returned from the above at Thorpe Bay YC.

We wanted to thank the entire club for the fantastic organisation of the event and the very warm welcome.

The whole event from the camping, parking, club house and boat park was really professional and undertaken with a real determination to ensure every one was made to feel welcome.

The race management and on water support was great and our sailors have had a wonderful few days racing.

Really well done, a great advertisement for TBYC and a fabulous RS Feva Nationals

    Thank you

    Michael and Lisa Black

It was indeed a fantastic nationals. Martin Swindon’s meticulous organisation ensured everything ran very smoothly. I heard lots of ‘best event ever’ comments. Well done Martin and all his many volunteers!

Firstly thank you so much for a fantastic four days sailing, this was my daughters first sailing event and she and her crew had a fantastic time, the staff at the club were always on hand to help, I would like to say a special thanks to the tally ladies who gave them a big hug the day day they broke their mast and we were not around, to the young lads who were waist deep in water most day helping the boats launch in difficult conditions, and to the all the volunteers who helped the event run smoothly – Thank you!

Secondly, on the yachts and yachting website is a photograph by Linzi Swindon, who I think I spoke to one morning on the slip way about her pictures, I see she has a photo on the yachts and yachting website and was wondering if we could perhaps purchase a copy, it is the one of the two girls in pink rooster tops inthe purple feva, sail number 501, (it was the only purple feva at the nationals), its such a great picture.

Many thanks, and please be sure to pass on mine and my daughter’s thanks to everyone.

    Thanks

    Jenni & Phillipa Blunden
