Huge thanks to everyone for making the week such a success and for the unexpected, but very kind generosity shown towards Debbie Kilkelly and myself on the Friday…Thank you all!
May I please take this opportunity to apologise for the mistake with the results of the Hopper End-of-Week race (which were done in something of a hurry) and rectify them here. Tom Metcalf came 3rd, beating Alex Hadley with a determined and very fast time in his LaserRadial. Sorry for the mistake Tom and I hope we see you down at the club and on the water again soon.
Sorry also to Adele Morton and Claudia Wilmore, who were completely missed out somehow! I will put you in and ask Jeremy Sandford to post the results on the club website soon.
Thanks again to everyone for their support and energy and I hope to see you all on the water!
The Walley Cup will be re-sailed in September when the weather improves!
Rupert Snow.

Due to circumstances beyond the club’s control we have had to cancel this event.
Sorry for any disappointment this may cause.
Instead we will run an August Bank Holiday Mini series over the three days on a similar format as the normal Pico series so we can all spend plenty of race time on the water having loads of fun as always.
Now what we do need is a sponsor, so if anyone has any suggestions as to offering a cup of some sort then do please let Mike Thomason know and we can make this an annual event.
Laser Centre have been asked to let us know about some special deals on race sails, kickers and toestraps and details to follow once received.

All families participating… Please download and print these forms. It will be useful to have this information prior to registration. At Registration on Monday 1st August, children will collect a bag with their name on and adults will collect an envelope with all the relevant tickets for your children, for the week. It is vital that you make sure you collect this envelope on the Monday, as children may not be able to enter evening activities outside the club, without proof of purchase.

Congratulations to all the children and adults who made the TBYC visit to the Feva Worlds, such a resounding success. 7 boats competed from the club, helping make a fleet of 160 boats from countries all over Europe and the World. The event was superbly managed in an outstanding sailing area and we were afforded every type of wind conditions from the sublime to the outrageous!
Thanks to the valient efforts of Steve and David Hopper, Martin and Nick Binnindijk, Barry Duce, as well as the more sane approach of Martin and Lyndsey Swindon, we all enjoyed a close view of proceedings on their ribs. Steve’s vision for a new cadet fleet has been realised in style and huge thanks goes to him for setting on track such a successful future for TBYC cadet sailing. I expect we will have even more boats being sent from TBYC for the Feva Worlds 2012 at HISC!

Congratulations to Howard Hawkes, for 4th place in group 1 of the Nore race last week and winning the Yachting News Trophy – well done Howard. Also well done to the intrepid Daren Fitchew who apparently lost his mast in the mouth of the medway put it up again, finished the race, then lost it again! Incredible. Way to go Daren. Finish at all costs.
