Dear Members,
As 2020 draws to a close it has been challenging in so many ways to so many of us.
I particularly want to pause and remember those members who are no longer with us, wish those who are poorly a speedy recovery and to look forward to a very much more positive 2021.
We have continued to be a very active club and your Committee’s have ensured a well planned calendar for next year to cater for all our members.
Please stay safe. I wish you all a happy New Year and will drink a toast to you all as we enter 2021.
Take care
Adrian

Dear Members,
It has been a tough year for many of our members but the strong TBYC spirit has been evident throughout the year.
The award of the Gerald Mitcham Cup to all our members is a fitting tribute.
Lots is already planned for 2021 and our club spirit will continue to thrive.
I would like to thank our staff and the many unsung volunteers of the club for making us such a success.
Merry Christmas and happy sailing for 2021.
Best wishes

It is with sadness I have to announce that a club member Sue Elkington has passed away earlier today after a short illness.
Sue will be fondly remembered by members and in particular those involved in Cadet week where she ran the Bosuns hut for a number of years.
We at TBYC send our most sincere condolences to her son David and all the family.

Dear Members,
Following the Governments announcement that we are now in Tier 4 the club has reviewed its guidance to members.
Members can still access the dinghy park and free sail as there is no limit on outdoor exercise.
Please also consider you should be staying at home and only travelling for specific reasons like work and education.
If attending the dinghy park on your own you may only mix with one other person who is not part of your household or support bubble.
RYA guidelines currently do not include Tier 4 advice. This will be reviewed by the club when published.
Regards

The sandhopper fleet has been lost, someone must know where they have gone?
A fantastic day this Sunday with perfect sailing conditions and only four arrived, Nore race last weekend and only three!
They must be somewhere, perhaps they have all gone to the dark side and joined the sprint fleet?
Please help and find the lost souls of a once fantastic race fleet that have been lost.
If you cannot find them, please feel free to take charge of their empty boats and go sailing. They will never know.
Thank you

Unfortunately this weeks Friday Cadet activities will need to be cancelled due to a booking clash at TBYC. It is also the Nore Race Prizegiving with BBQ should you wish to attend Benfleet YC. We will attempt to re schedule at a later date.
Thank you

A BIG! Thank-you from the fast cats and myself, for all the help this weekend. Yes, the A-class fleet didn’t get out to race due to the high winds but we were still out on the water in other forms. A big thank-you to Howard & Robin and the girls, for looking after the race officer bit, To the Rib owners, Lewis, Martin and Michael plus crews, who did a fantastic job laying marks and saving sailors etc. To Paul and Pete on SS3 who helped save a runaway Tornado from doing too much damage on Saturday. Thanks goes without saying to Paul, Donna and the bar staff team for keeping spirits up. To Dave and the kitchen crew for the weekend service and our lovely club secretary Janet, who kept it all on track. Thanks again to Graham Dare for dealing with the council car parking and to Michael & Howard, who put all the race results together really quickly. It’s amazing what a team club effort can do.
