A good bank holiday week-end of sailing coming up

Published by under Racing

Come on down and join in a good variety of races this week-end.

Saturday 5th May is the first of the club series races this year when we will be doing two short races back to back. First start at 11.00am and the second races as soon as possible after all have finished their first race.

Sunday 6th May is the Benfleet Shield Race. A mass start at 11.00 am – the course will be on the blackboard but is likely to be an initial beat then round the pier and off to a mark at the entrance to Benfleet Creek and back – probably rounding a few other buoys on the way.

Monday 7th May is the Not So Easy Race – a mass start at 12.00 midday – no-one yet knows the course – but it will be set on the day and must not be easy!!!

Finally in Florida *Updated*

Published by under Racing,World's

Well after the plane breaking down and getting delayed for 27 hours only to have a Virgin flight block the runway up for another few hours I’m finally here.

The boats got stuck in customs for a day and instead of a flatbed car lorry to onload all we got was a covered truck with a tailgate lift.

with some inginuity, brute strenght and plenty of ignorance all boats are on the deck and in one piece, all rigged up just having a bite to eat and then off for some training and hopefully be ready for the US Nationals starting tomorrow.

Awful weather here, 28 degrees and blowing 18-20knots from the West every afternoon.
