Former member Alistair Bruce has sadly passed away,
In recognition of his long term former membership where he sailed GP14, Sandhopper & Cruisers from TBYC and was an active Committee member the Flags will be half masted on Thursday 21st October with the Funeral at 3pm, Southend Crematorium.

    I have never met Alistair Bruce but lament his passing. I have owned two of his previous boats: Modestine and Spider. Most sandhoppers are given names that have something to do with the sea or foreshore. But Alistair chose Spider, after Robert the Bruce, his namesake. It is fitting the present owners have decided to retain the name.

    I send condolences from both Hadley and Sach families. Our thoughts are with the family.
