We are in awe of the wonderful expertise and devotion given to David by the Essex Air Ambulance Service and crew and think it appropriate to direct our efforts, 67% towards them, together with the 33% going to Little Haven’s Children’s Hospice. We shall pay all travel and accommodation expenses, so everything donated plus gift aid, if appropriate, will all go to these causes.
Many of you generously sponsored us last year & whilst, of course, we do not assume support, if any of you are willing to give us backing this year, for any amount, our gratitude will be unbounded.
now for a little bit of background to those who do not know Ian Stobart or David Johnson, these are two guys just starting out on their TV careers….. didn’t seem camera shy did they… who have actually given a whole heap of their time to you already via good old TBYC.
Ian being a long long term member since the early 60’s really dug deep for our club when it went through its not so succesful period in the 80’s by running fundraising activities and work parties to renovate the boatpark, replace fencing etc and enthuse others to help. They were really dark days with a not so bright future for TBYC if it were not for the likes of Ian and Co we may not have a club as we know it today.
David has given many of us hours of his time in advice and help with anything needing a gel coat or resin repair and has given alot of his time keeping the Club Guard Boats and Committee Boat afloat.
Both Ian and David are very similar tremendously kind hearted souls and now is your opportunity to support them via their charity page.
Doesn’t it feel good to give something back!
First sighting of the pair in the greesy spoon under the pier…..
