BIG Thanks.
On behalf of Bob Crane and myself a big thank you to Peter Thompson and Steve Hopper for their invaluable help between 00:15 and 04:00 last Saturday bringing some of the Cruisers as well as the committee boat onto the shore ready for the cranes to lift out. As well as being hard work it was a joy to work with them both. I personally learnt from Peter how valuable a stern line can be as well as receiving a fantastic fully clothed swimming lesson.
A sincere thanks very much guys. Wayne & Bob.

Wayne, it is good to hear you’re putting Struan’s swimming lessons to good use.
Struan had his own little adventure on sunday. He slowly launched a friend’s A class catamaran down the slipway. The wind was from the north-west but he chose to set-off on port tack, ie heading in the direction of the shore box and beach huts.
He soon realised he didn’t have any steerage, despite wagging the tiller back and forth. Something was most definitely wrong! Everybody was shouting at him. As he looked round, he could see he hadn’t lowerred his rudders. Unpurturbed, he plonked one down and must have missed the blue beach hut by a whisker. We all blew a sigh of relief.
