A couple of weeks back, Alan Willis did an excellent presentation for existing and new Race and Assistant Race Officers. You may have missed the evening or just want to go back over the presentation or handouts (a very useful one page summary).
They have now been made available with other helpful material in Club Duty Guidance (available from the left hand webpage options) under Race and Assistant Race Officer http://www.tbyc.org/club-duty-guidance/ .
We have often heard that people have dropped their phones in the water and generally being at weekends, nothing can be done. So we now have a Reviveaphone kit that is available if required for £18 (our purchase cost was £15+P&P) behind the bar.
There are similar kits but Reviveaphone seems to be the best known. The key thing is if the phone is damaged in water then do not power it up, do not charge it, remove the battery (if you can, iphones are sealed in the phone) and then use the kit, full instructions can be read by clicking on the image.
This has not been tested by the club and so therefore we do not take any responsibility in using the kit.
