It is with deep sadness that I have to announce that Jeremy Mitcham passed away on the morning of 9th May after a long battle with cancer.
Jeremy was a very active member in his early days before moving to Australia to continue with his sailing career.

In May 2013, the Club purchased a RS Tera for our Cadet Section which was 50% funded by the Eric Twiname Trust.
We have received the following request from Bruce Aitken, Secretary of the Twiname Trust who is looking to raise funds to enable the Trust to continue their funding policy of providing subsidised dinghies to Yacht Clubs in the UK.
My daughter Tamsin, along with one of her brothers, Callum, are doing a 3 Peaks Challenge on 20 June. Their aim is to climb the highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) in 24 hours with the magnanimous aim of raising money for the Eric Twiname Trust. Tamsin has developed a page on the JustGiving website http://www.justgiving.com/Aitken-ET which gives more details.
I look forward in due course to being able to report a successful outcome – not just with the physical challenge aspect but also the financial target.
Best wishes,
Bruce Aitken
Secretary, The Eric Twiname Trust
Members are invited to sponsor this worthwhile challenge by visiting the Just Giving website address as above and follow the instructions on donations.

As part of the Club House refurbishment plan, the upgrade to our balcony decking and balustrade rails will commence on Wednesday 7th May 2014.
Depending on weather conditions, the main balcony will be out of action for up to 3 weeks during the refurbishment.
At the end of this refurbishment, we will have a sound watertight structure with modern child safe railings to provide good service for at least the next 35 years.
There will be no disruption to the daily activities within the club house.
Your co operation and understanding is appreciated whilst the building works are ongoing.
