The Endeavour is fast approaching! It is a one day Championship to pitch the best of each fleet against each other in a one design
class.
This year again, the class of choice is the Sandhopper. It’s easy to sail and can involve the crews in the event. This year crews will be sailing against last year’s Sandhopper National Champions: Chris and Ken Clarke.
We do hope that people will accept the challenge in the spirit of the event and take part. If you can’t be there please speak to your class captains.
This year’s invites are:
Finn – Allen Burrell – Accepted Challenge
Sprint – Gary Sverdloff & Andrew Hannah – Accepted Challenge
Hurricane – Julian Reichert & George Warrington
Windward/Leeward – Nick Elmore & Andrew Wood Accepted Challenge
Laser – Chris Boshier & Dominic Speller Accepted Challenge
Cruiser – Paul Farrall & Alex Farrall – Accepted Challenge
Cadet – Winner or Cadet Week – Assisted by Alex Warrington – Accepted Challenge by default!
Sandhopper – Chris & Ken Clarke – Accepted Challenge
Single handed classes may select a crew from within their fleets.
Please let me know your acceptance of the challenge by email to mailto:[email protected]

Saturday 18th June meeting at 13.30 on the beach rigged and changed
Andras and Mark D will be offering an additional small group session for up to 8 cadets who are transitioning to Piranhas for Cadet Week or who Piranhas who have not been on the water this year. If places remain they can be allocated to any cadet who expresses an interest.

Not going ahead:
After school sailing Thursday or Friday at 16:00
16-17 June 2022
After assessing the forecast we decided not to go ahead.
Thursday there was little interest anyway with a very short window.
Friday unfortunately there is increasing sea breeze with outgoing tide, not safe to coach a group with limited safety resources.
If you see parents and cadets, keep it in mind that there is no coaching, no safety boat cover.
I am sorry, I was keen, but the weather is not with us.

Briefing at 14.45 (changed and rigged, meet on the sea wall). Leaving the beach at 15.00.
This activity is aimed at the more experienced Cadet Sailors to develop their Racing skills. Sessions include exercises to improve boat handling, sailing a set course, starting and finishes with a series of short races.
CADETS ARE TO COMPLETE THE FULL SESSION, coming back during a session is not an option due to safety reasons. Parents are encouraged to help with preparation, recovery and on-the-water.
Please complete the short form to register your child for this session. Click here
(This allows me to prepare the Race sheet and save so much time on the day)

After school sailing Thursday or Friday at 16:00
16-17 June 2022
With Nick we are considering arranging sailing for cadets.
Please, let me know if you are interested.
The weather is good, and there will be enough water for a sailing session each day.
Any sailor in any boat could come who can sail independently (at least tack around and stay in the sailing area). This is not a learn to sail course.
Experienced sailors may wish us to set up a practice race course and may ask for racing drills.
For less experienced sailors we will provide coaching and supervision.
The aim of the session is to enjoy sailing in a sunny weather and have fun.
I will ask sailors to remain in the agreed sailing area to ensure appropriate safety cover.
Parents, we will be grateful for your help with safety.
Please, let me know if you are interested:
